YDRS will be going on a 6 city tour with Les Claypool and Saul Williams in early March 2009. There will be dates in California, Oregon, Washington and Colorado. Stay tuned. Details will be announced shortly.
YDRS will be headlining Floydfest in Virginia on Friday July 24th 2009. NOW is the time to get your tickets. Come out to the country and have a little fun with us.

While the ladies of Black and Blue were busy moonlighting in the last Michael Franti video the rest of the band was over in Oakland making time in this Rupa & the April Fishes video.
This was directed by Dugan O'neal. He worked on our video too. Which, as we promised, will be out shortly. It's not what you would expect.

We made it home just in time for Indian Summer. We plan to wait out the harder part of the winter here and possibly hit the road again in the early part of 2009. This may be a nice time to visit the southern part of our fair state. We’ll see…
We ended the 2008 season in Denver at the Bluebird Theater and SOLD it OUT ! When we were in Denver four years ago on our first national tour we played in a junk yard somewhere in Commerce City. There were 10 people at that junk yard. Now a full house at the BB. It's been a long road at times and shows like this make it worthwhile. Thank you Denver!

Fall bits and highlights:
Lulalicious of Panty Raid Burlesque in Nashville sat in with YDRS in Portsmouth. She nailed it and heroically saved us from ourselves. She’s tops!
The theater in Portsmouth was a turn of the century opera house. The Boston Globe did a nice preview of show. Check it out.
We didn’t see this one coming but High Times did a review of our New York show. It ends with: “…which makes it like a wonderful acid trip without the comedown. And who wouldn’t want that?” YDRS review here . Bong reviews here .
We had another photo in Spin (September issue). This one was of the Bordertown bit at Rothbury. It’s about the size of a matchbook. But it’s there...

We just returned from Ireland where we performed at the Electric Picnic festival. A bunch of our friends were there including Lucent Dossier - another pack of cabaret creatives from LA.
We plan to release 3 videos this fall. The first will be vintage YDRS. The second will be a touring short. The third will be our VERY first music video EVER! If the wind blows just right these tidbits will be coming your way in the very near future. Keep checking here and on our MySpace page

We caught Leila La Roux and Gypsy Joblinsky of the Black and Blue and YDRS moonlighting in this Michael Franti video:

We just got back from Europe. 30 days. 14 shows. 7 planes. 4 buses. 3 chickens. This TV show in Portugal did a cute little review of our performance in Caldas Da Raihna. You can see it here.

Here's a picture of a guy who straps rockets to his back and flys around the Alps. Probably a little more interesting then buildings and signs.
Paris was lovely. What a friendly town. Our promoter had a “nervous breakdown”. His incredibly unstable wife tried to cancel the show. But after further investigation we are almost certain this “promoter” and his “nervous breakdown” were a charade. We really wanted to believe the story but in the end it was just too bizzaro and way too "French".
Have you heard of mimoZine? They publish digital magazines on thumb drives that look like this.
There will be segment about YDRS at the Rothbury Festival in the next issue.

You heard it here first! The Yard Dogs Road Show will be at the Fillmore in San Francisco on Saturday, September 6th. This show sold out in 2007. Tickets will be available soon. Tell your friends! It's our hometown and should be most delicious.
This is a photo taken by Mr. Nightshade at Lightning in a Bottle. They had trees and wood chips and just the right amount of rain. The Yard Dogs haven't had that much fun in a long time. If we were you we would go to this festival in 2009 - don't think twice - just go - they are simply doing it the right way.

We just returned from a little tour to the mountains - the Windhorse Tour. We'll be in Santa Cruz next week and Lightning in a Bottle after that. Portugal, Paris and Glastonbury are coming up too. This will be our busiest 2 months of 2008. Send us letters. Tell us funny things. We need your support and most importantly, your wisdom, as we travel over land and sea to bring you our little demonstrations.
Did you know that the Indigo Bellydance
with Rachel Brice, Mardi Love and Zoe Jakes will be touring with us again in September? These dates are being announced as they are confirmed.

Listen for the Yard Dogs on the Live Wire! radio show. The show was recorded at the Aladdin Theater in Portland on Friday, August 17th. We performed a couple of songs and did a rather ludicrous interview.

As usual the Oregon Country Fair was a joyous experience for all of us. Wow! Talk about VAUDEVILLE , these folks in the woods got it. For 25 years they've been gettin' it. If you ever have a chance, it's a must do. Here's a picture of our performance. Hilary Hulteen took it. You can click on it to make it bigger.
We just did 10 count it 10 shows at Bonnaroo! Our little tent was bulging at the seams with all types of funny folks. Folks on fire. Folks on acid. Fighting folks. Happy folks. Check out the video here. We're right after the booby girls from Jersey. Don't mind the babble, we were all sunstroked.
The Black and Blue
The Fillmore was a joyous success. It seemed like folks came from miles around. A full house - SOLD OUT show!
We did four shows in Portugal. We managed to travel to a foreign land with the entire show strapped to our backs - chicken and all. Watching it all come together in Portalegre was like turning the page of pop-up book. A new chapter filled with bread, cheese and cork trees. By the fourth show it seemed like very little was being lost in the translation. The newspapers said the Yard Dogs were “breaking the boundaries of performance art”. Thankfully they got it, whatever “it” is. There are photos from the tour in the gallery. The venue in Braga was built as a circus theater in 1913.

Phoebe and Leighton - long time members of the Yard Dogs Road Show - just opened a special little store right here in San Francisco. It's called Five and Diamond.
Random Peculiarities:
We had a big two page photo in Spin Magazine a couple months ago. It was a nice image of the Black and Blue Burlesque and Leighton, Micha and Sansa - pretty colors dancing around them.
There was also a nice photo essay in Anthem Magazine. Hilary Hulteen took the pictures. She also did the art for our new site.
